IES Abroad allows students to choose to take courses at local universities in addition to the courses they take with the IES staff. With IES I am taking a course on the music of Spain, one on the self and identity in a postmodern world, and one on the Gypsies in Spain. At UAB I am taking a Spanish literature course on realism and modernism, and a French language course. The campus is huge, but it is located at a 40 minute train ride from where I live in the center of Barcelona.

Abroad deja que los estudiantes elijan tomar cursos con universidades
locales a demás de los cursos que toman con IES. Con IES estoy inscrita en
un curso sobre la música de España, uno sobre el ser y la identidad en un mundo
postmoderno, y uno sobre los gitanos en España. Con la UAB tomo un curso de
literatura española y uno del lenguaje francés. El campus es enorme, pero esta
a 40 minutos en tren de donde vivo yo.
