Saludos, amigos mios!
There are only 18 days left until my departure for Barcelona! Time is sure flying by...
I have so much left to prepare yet as I frantically decide on what to bring (think about all the clothes and shoes I need to span me 4 months!) I've found out that I will stay with a woman named Isabel and another American student named Gabby, who is also traveling via the IES Abroad program. Isabel's residence is conveniently located within walking distance of 2 parks, which I am actually super excited about. I can already imagine spending time there, doing homework or taking a nice walk. I've already video-chatted with Gabby and I think it's safe to say that we both really like each other, and that the upcoming 4 months will be nothing short of spectacular. We're both so excited! Gabby is from around Dallas, TX, which is coincidentally where I spent my childhood growing up and she loves traveling to new places just as much as I do.
As far as communicating with me while I'm abroad, I will stay connected to all social media (links on the right). I'm pretty sure I will be receiving a local phone upon my arrival, but I also will have my own phone whereby I can text with Whatsapp. I suggest you also download Whatsapp (it's free!!) and we can text using wifi as opposed to regular SMS. Other than that I will of course be checking up on email and Facebook, and posting pictures to my Instagram so be sure to check those out! I also have a Skype account which I'll probably be using fairly regularly. If you don't have my phone number, email, or Skype added, send me a message to my Facebook inbox. Otherwise please feel free to leave me comments on here!!

Solo faltan 18 dias para mi viaje! El tiempo ha pasado super rápido. Aun tengo mucho que preparar, y mucho que empacar (piensen en toda la ropa y los zapatos que necesito que me combinen durante 4 meses!) Ya me dijeron que me voy a quedar con una señora llamada Isabel, y con otra estudiante americana que se llama Gabby, quien también viaja a través de IES Abroad. La residencia de la Sra. Isabel esta localizada convenientemente entre 2 parques a los que podría caminar. Esto me hace muy feliz porque ya puedo imaginarme haciendo mi tarea por allá. Ya me he comunicado con Gabby y las dos nos caemos muy bien, y seguro que los próximos 4 meses serán espectaculares. Las dos estamos muy emocionadas! Gabby viene de Dallas, TX, donde pasé yo mi niñez, y le gusta viajar tanto como a mi.
En cuanto a la comunicación, estaré conectada a todas mis redes sociales (hay enlaces a la derecha de esta pagina). Estoy casi segura que me darán un teléfono local cuando llegue, pero también me llevare mi propio teléfono. Tengo Whatsapp, y fuera de eso estaré checando mi email y face, y tomaré fotos con el instagram así que no se les olvide verlas! También tengo cuenta de skype. Si no tienen estos datos míos pueden mandarme un mensaje a través del face. Por favor, también pueden dejarme comentarios aquí en mi blog!

I'm so glad everything is coming together for you! I'm going to miss you so much this fall but it's so exciting you're going to be having all of these grand adventures. It's awesome that you're going to be staying near parks; it'll be like you never even left Merion! Of course you would have a roommate from Texas and I can't even say I'm surprised. It seems like you guys really hit it off and are going to have a great semester, but remember that I'm the favorite roommate :)
